RICE, RICE BABY.....(fading out) Too Cold, Too Cold
Other potential titles for this post included, DOES IT HURT TO TYPE? and/or I AM AN AMBIDEXTRIOUS GENIUS. However, it does, in fact, hurt to type and I am having to hunt and peck to do this left-handed, rendering the realization I am not an ambidextrous genius. So my ode to Vanilla Ice and Sports Therapy seemed most appropriate as I sit here icing my right shoulder and clumsily hacking this post out with my non-dominant hand.
RICE stands for rest, ice, compression and elevation for those unfamiliar with sports therapy vernacular. A week ago tomorrow signals 7 days post-surgery correcting a SLAP tear and biceps tendon injury in my right shoulder. I am optimistic that I will regain strength and mobility and come back better than ever.
In the meantime, I'm scared about putting weight back in during this time or inactivity. Am reliant on diet and not exercise for weight control, and am starting a new stage of nutrition. Wish me luck! I'll be back soon. In the meantime, hoping to get back to work and start physical therapy, post haste.
